Beaumont Buildings was set up in the early 1960s as a heavy industrial facility for the manufacturing of chimneys which were sent worldwide until early on in the present century. From early 2000 the site has hosted a variety of businesses.
The gallery space is the former drawing office for the chimney factory with the studios occupying the former canteen and part of the drawing office. The space, courtesy of Sean Henderson, has been adapted to show exhibition artwork but we have been careful to retain the industrial features of the building, which are a celebration of commercial architecture of the period. The steel girders to the ceiling are a work of art in themselves!
The long term aim is to host exhibitions and workshops throughout the year, including solo and duel shows by invited artists. Please join our mailing list to keep abreast of our events.
